The Digital Commons supports scholarly and academic activities conducted or enhanced through the use of digital technology by:

  • Providing technology, infrastructure, and tools that support digital scholarly activity
  • Incubating new digital projects with community members
  • Serving as a hub for digital activity to connect researchers, instructors, and students with available services on campus
  • Hosting events and workshops that invite and showcase new modes of scholarly production in a broad range of fields
  • Engaging in research and development work on tools and technologies that support our projects and contribute to the broader understanding of digital scholarship and scholarly communication

Digital Commons Open Consultation Hours

Center for Integrative Spatial Research | ISB 450

CISR is focused on integrating state-of-of-the-art spatial technology and methods (geographic information systems, global positioning systems, remote sensing, spatial modeling/statistics) with pressing interdisciplinary research and fostering cross-domain cooperation in the application of these tools.

CISR manages both a research and teaching facility specializing in state-of-the-art spatial technology, software applications, and data. The Center also includes hardware and software for image processing and geospatial analysis, as well as a wide array of ancillary and supporting equipment.

Center for Statistical Analysis in the Social Sciences | First floor of Social Sciences 2

CSASS provides statistical and methodological support to the research missions of all departments within the Division of Social Sciences by providing free statistical consulting and quantitative training workshops.

Data Science Initiative

A new Center of Excellence in Data Science Research will develop new foundational research in data-driven discovery and decision making and provide a forum for researchers in industry and academia to exchange ideas and develop practical solutions to data science challenges.
